How Far Would You Go to be Frugal?

I have recently read an article that made me squirm in my seat and got a little sick in my stomach when I created a mental picture in my mind of what that would look like. Would you eat food out of the trash in order to be frugal? How far would you go to have a frugal lifestyle? I read about a woman who was always worried about whether she had enough money to buy things, so she started eating out of the dumpster in order to be able to afford the luxuries of a new laptop, or a new outfit. The idea of doing something like this does not move me, and there is a huge potential of getting sick from eating food out of the dumpster. Yuck! I would be afraid of what I would find in the dumpster (see picture).  I want to be frugal but not to that extent and I think that is basically being cheap not frugal.

So how far would you go to be frugal?

Now that is way too far to try to save money. You can save money on food before sinking so low.
