I am finding as I am paying off all of my credit cards and negotiations with bill collectors, I am learning that it is a lot of work to get all of this done.  I sit here and say to myself, why didn’t I pay this off sooner?  Why was I procrastinating my bills?  I was afraid to handle it as it felt so overwhelming over the fact that I have run up so many bills and I must say that there is nothing like the present.  Handling things now instead of later, as later can be worse than anything.  Later can be complete disaster and heart wrenching.  It is more than spending money that you do not have but it is also learning how to set boundaries, and goals while paying off debt along with ensuring that it will not happen again.

It is important to find ways that are in encouraging and will help you feel better about paying off debt.  I can only imagine the guilt that a person would feel about running up debt as I have felt the same feeling too.

In this day and age where credit cards are used heavily, the special rewards that are being offered on a regular basis, low interest rates, credit card transfers to transfer your balance to another card, and the list goes on.

However, the bottom line is to not spend more than you can afford.  If you are purchasing on item on your credit card, then be sure to have the cash ahead of time to pay all off the bill when it comes.  This will help you to feel a sense of accomplishment that you have taken a part in the process of becoming debt free. So I encourage you to keep going and do not give up in the process of gettng rid of your debt.
