Starting a Writing Career–Is it Possible?

google, firefox 3, obama, clinton, fibromyalgia, finances, money, saving, career, blogging, blogs

I have been researching my alternatives in bringing more income for my finances and I have found that I need to not overdo things while I try to do all of this.  I have been writing and blogging on a more serious focus.  I think that I need to work on expanding my options in writing as there is more than just writing blogs and small articles correct?  So I have been thinking about starting a writing business, so I will be looking into creating a business plan. and asking other writers that have writing businesses.

I am not able to work outside the home due to having Fibromyalgia, and I would love to do more.

Do you have a business?  I would love to hear  more from all of you.

Get that Second Job!

wahm, work at home, working, telecommuting, second job, debt, savings, money

One of the important factors to consider when it comes to having debt is that you will need to make more money that what you make in your current income.  Having your current income and trying to make ends meet will be entirely too difficult and stressful.  Finding a way to bring in extra cash will be the best way to go. It is good to find a part-time job that you will work at for on a short-term basis. The goal is to get rid of the debt that you have so that you will be able to be debt free. If a second job is not possible then it is best to look for another job that pays better. If you have a talent that you are great with such as a pet sitter or dog walker then you can charge fee of how much you will do it for. Go for it!

Saving Money:Update on Me

I have been slowly working on my finances and working through plans that I have set up for myself.  This has helped me to feel more at ease about my finances and how they are coming along.  I like that my bills are slowly going down and some are being eliminated in a quicker fashion.  I will share more of my plans that I have been working on.  I like that I have been able to find ways to help myself during the difficult times in my life right now.  I am continuously growing as a writer and seeing that there is a possibility that I can turn this into a business. I love to write and express myself through this art form, so all I can do is hope that the ideas I have will work out.

What is Frugality?

Definition from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Frugality: Economical, thrifty.

This word has often taken on another word which is called cheap. Is there a difference? As I try to find more ways to save money and conserve energy to help with my utility bills I am finding that I am really fighting even harder to pinch that dollar, and think hard about what I am purchasing. Is this a need or want? I must admit that I feel guilty at times, when I desire to buy a DVD, CD, or MP3s but then it is more of a want than a need. So I put it back as I desire to really buy it for my enjoyment as I would watch this movie more than one time. Once in awhile I will go to restaurant and order simply some juice, and then when it comes to the tip and well the attentive waitress will not receive much if I leave exact tip. I do desire to leave an extra dollar or two, but would I be considered cheap if I left a small tip?

So I feel that while I am pinching my dollars and I am happy to have saved money along the way, I really would like to have my happiness and buy what I desire for myself from time to time. I do not see anything wrong with buying an occasional DVD once a month or better yet once every two months as long as I do not get into the regular buying frenzy that I used to do. What do think? Do you ever feel guilty about buying something that you enjoy but trying to save as much money as possible? I look forward to hearing your stories.

Suze Orman’s Wisdom Words

It has been reported on Larry King Live, that Suze Orman has said to not spend the Economic Stimulus Check but to save the money. I do agree with what she is saying to a certain extent, as I believe that saving the money does go a long way.  She said that the government is hoping that we will spend the money on things that we do not need in order to basically stimulate the economy so to speak into order to avoid a recession.

I do not agree with her suggesting bankruptcy as a main way to get rid of debt.  I believe that all practicals should be used first and bankruptcy should be the last option to choose.  I do agree with her advice to make more money to help pay off the debt and to basically have more income than expenses.

I do believe that if you have debts to pay then to use some of the money of the money to paid off the debt and put the rest in your savings.  I know that when I do get my check I will use half to pay off my debt and the other half will go into my savings account.  I know that I plan on going vacation in the coming year, and I am currently saving money in order for me to do that.
