Making Decisions

Published by literarychica under money Edit This

I have had to make a lot of decisions in my life over the last several months and one was to fully begin my writing business. I must say that I feel wonderful about that decision as now I am doing what I have always wanted to do.  I find that I am happier and more at peace but I have one issue that I am battling with is fear. Fear of success. This fear affects everything and that includes the ability to move up and bring in more money to my home. What bad thing could happen with success? Failure. I have been thinking about this for awhile and I see that I need to not be afraid of failure, as if it happens then the best thing to do is to look at what happened, and pick myself back up.

With the starting of my business my work has been praised and accepted in many places. I see that I need to sit down and make goals for myself, and then do them.

Try to avoid the negativity and turn things into a positive outlook. So if you are fearing about starting your own business, don’t, just do what you need to do to make it real. Thoughts become things. Don’t just say oh how you wish you could do this or that, how bad do you want change? Don’t worry about how it will happen, it just will. Make it happen.

Best College Majors To Choose

Published by literarychica under money Edit This

business, finances, indymac, iphone, 3G, freelance writing, business administration, college, lucrative, college majors, engineering, savings, psychology, how toI have been learning about the the most lucrative college majors for current college students.  When I started out in school, my parents pushed for me to be in Business Administration and I chose International Business.  However, I found that this courses drew absolutely no interest to me.  When I started back in college a few years ago, I completely changed my major to Sociology as I really would like to help others.  I have been enjoying my schooling, the courses and I have learned so much along the way.

“The kinds of majors where you learn to integrate mathematics and science with the everyday world have a tremendous benefit in terms of earnings potential,” says PayScale.com’s Lee.

Engineering has been noted one of the majors that allow for a normally higher salary than some of the other majors.  I know that my major in Human Services will be serving people more and more in the future. Now if you are set on obtaining a Psychology degree, then do considerate going all of the way to a doctorate degree. I believe that with any major, going forward with another degree and more importantly building up your experience would be best.

Pay Day Loan Advances, Is it Really a Pay Day?

business, indymac, fdic, google, marketing, payday loan advances, paycheck advance, credit cards, bills, debtAround town there are so many of these Pay Day Loan and “Get Your Paycheck Early” Advanced check businesses. But is it really a pay day?  I remember when I worked for a company and their customers would call in needing to make a payment. I would hear over and over about them having these Payday loans services that would basically taking out extravagant funds out of their checking accounts. They would take all of their money and prevented them from paying others bills which in turn made them late on their bills.  I watched a story on the ABC Evening News about a woman who had about 4 of these pay day loans out costing her over $3000-$5000 which I believe are several paychecks for her.  I remember at one time I had thought about trying those pay day loans however the high fees and interest rates turned it into an option that I could not do and I am glad that I did not do it. It would have been even more disastrous.  So this woman now is struggling severely with paying her bills and along with these huge pay day advance loans too.

So all in all I would say that if you really need to do these type of payday loan advances then really do consider the pros and cons of doing this option. Make sure that you only do it once and when it is time to pay for the loan, pay it off right away as time goes on the interest will continue to build.  I would say that is like a horrible credit card.  So find ways to bring in a little extra income or build an emergency fund account.

Why Are You in Debt?–Part III

indymac, fdic, insured, money, debt, insurance, savings, save, medication, health, treatment, suze orman, cramer, mad money, shoppingI found the root of my issue with money and I go through an amazing feeling power and to want to spend it like crazy buying whatever it is that I desired.  Now there is nothing wrong with shopping but spending everything that you have, and you do have cash to purchase your basic needs of food is a bad thing.  Wouldn’t you agree?

I felt completely inadequate about money for many years and I could not understand why many of the techniques that I learned from others would not work.  I have a condition called Bipolar disorder which causes manic episodes of impulsive or self-destructive behavior when it comes to money. This illness has ruined me financially however I am slowly I am getting better at things financially.

I was diagnosed about two years ago, and I was able to work through learning how to cope with this illness through a different way.  I have had money problems for over 10 years, and have managed to run up tens of thousands dollars of debt.  Although I have a majority of that paid off. With proper medication, treatments, and coping skills I do know how to cope better.

I may have enough money to buy something such as get my hair done or go to a concert, I learned to set limits for myself, and allowances.  If I do not spend all of my allowance that I have allocated for myself then I when it came to getting another allowance, I would put the excess back into my checking account.  I do not allow the amount in my checking account to get lower than a particular number and I am not talking about the number zero.  I feel less stress and more at ease about my finances and I get so excited when I am able to save money on items that I purchase. I pay in cash mainly for the smaller items that I purchase, and for larger items I use my debit card.  I have canceled all of my credit cards, and it feels great.

How do you cope with debt?  How do you feel when things are more under control such as what I have been experiencing?  I look forward to hearing your comments.  I do ask if you are leaving a comment to make sure it is a meaningful comment, and not to just show off the links to your blog site.   Thank you.

Making a Plan

business, plan, business plan, dave ramsey, debt, finances, successful, billsDo you have a plan to get out of debt?  A plan is important as this will help to stay on track and complete all of the tasks that you have set out to do.  I read in Dave Ramsey’s books he has a wonderful method of planning such as the “snowball” method.  This consists of listing all of your debts, starting with the smallest debts first, and focus on paying them off in that order.  This will give you a great sense of relief and you will also feel successful at the same time.  Also the positive feelings of affirmation of getting over debt much quicker than you were expecting.  It will help you to continue with handling paying off debt.
